Part2-Timmy (Yanze ZHao) -American dream for home and love

Part2
The American Dream is the heart of The Great Gatsby.

Benjamin Franklin said, “Anyone, regardless of his origin, race, and religion, can succeed with courage, diligence, and luck.”
The American Dream is different for everyone✊✊✊, In the novel, Gatsby, Tom and Daisy are all trying to pursue their American Dream by moving to the east.

Gatsby was a sailor in the past๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ, he became rich after he returned from the army
But his American Dream is not to be rich๐Ÿ˜‚, his American Dream is to own Daisy, Gatsby is eager to win back Daisy’s affection with money๐Ÿ˜ฆ๐Ÿ˜ฆ, but Daisy has been brainwashed by money and lost her true feeling for love๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข, that made Gatsby’s American Dream broken. As can be seen in the novel, The first night Gatsby faced to the other side of the river- Daisy’s home. It also shows Daisy is Gatsby’s American Dream. He managed to throw a lively party for Daisy, though he had no interest in it.

Gatsby has accumulated lots of wealth for Daisy, he lives in a seaside villa, holds parties every weekend to regain Daisy๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. In the end, Daisy ran over Tom’s mistress, and Gatsby took the blame for her, but he finally lost her and killed by Tom’s mistress’s husband.๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜ฐ๐Ÿ˜ฐ The loss of Daisy is Gatsby’s disillusionment. Although he realized that his dream had been shattered, but he still didn’t want to give up and lived in his fantasy in the end. In the pursuit of the American, people are often carried away by desire. People should stop and think of the goal we want.๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช
In the novel “The Pursuit of Happyness” Chris is also pursuing his American Dream. But unlike Gatsby, his American Dream is to have a stable life. He fights for his son and his family. And Gatsby is fighting for love๐Ÿ˜. That is the difference between them.
There are also some similarities, they all try their best to pursue their American Dream, they all have a determination not to give up, they both kind and dare to challenge. On the other hand, the American Dream is to have a happy family. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช
