Part 1--Betty(Siyan) Fan--See the reality from "sweet" appearance
Some people consider that the American Dream is that if people work hard, they will achieve their dreams. HOWEVER, I think the American Dream is an unrealistic fantasy that luxury for the few is built on the suffering of many because the American Dream made the gap between the rich and the poor wider.😬😬😬
My father has a friend whose children are going to an elementary school🏠🏠, but he doesn't have the money$$$💵 to choose the BEST headteacher and the BEST classes for his children. In that case, his children can only go to the regular class. This means that even though the children of the poor and the children of the rich go to the same school, they STILL receive differnet educations.😤😤⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒
The solidification of class leads to the future of future generations. So, the rich will always enjoy their rights and wealth, while the poor will not be able to get rid of the status of poverty no matter how hard they try. 😩😩😩 There is an article written by Jimmy Stamp describing that Jacob. A.Riis uses his camera to reflect the reality of the life of low-class when carrying out the American Dream.👍👍👍 I think this article suggests the American Dream is not all it's cracked up to be. It's wrapped in a glossy candy wrapper, 🍬🍬🍬but inside is the machinations of the ugly, filthy rich and the reality of the poor.😈😈😈
By presenting American Dream in this way, people could know exactly what the REAL PURPOSE of it and what idealistic people imagine about it ever, and how the American Dream results in the gap between the rich and the poor. In the article, there is a description of Jacob "Unable to find a steady job… and experienced the worst aspects of American urbanism--crime, sickness, squalor." It shows that at that time, when the American dream was carried out, the rich enjoyed LAVISH lifestyles while the poor went hungry, and society went through turmoil. It can prove that no matter what difficulties people encounter, the GAP between the rich and the poor will not be FILLED!!! 💢💢

I think that the American dream is IDEALISTIC because it is hard to realize. All the process is mastered in the rich's hands.💰💰 Generally speaking, the middle class is blinded by their belief in the American Dream, which tells them that getting rich is all about ambition and hard work. If some people are poor, it is because they are incompetent and lazy. 😒😒😒
In America, people pursue the need of MATERIALISM and CONSUMERISM to make themselves better. I think "better" means not only "better than what you had before," but also "better than what others have." This idea of competition fits for the idea of "survival of the fittest," so the American Dream is a fantasy for the poor and idealistic. 😞😞

The symbols you use in the text can further express the meaning you want to express and the emotion in the text, such as “😞😟” . There also has the different colors’ divider that can make me know the text more clearly. The overlapping colors used in the article show the importance of the text, which is a sign that I can focus on reading. However, I think your personal example is not a good proof that no matter how hard the poor try, they will not have a better future for their children. It is not enough to prove your opinion.
