Hansen ( Yunteng Zhu ) One big lie has deceived people all over the world for nearly a hundred years
Here is Hansen,π the only most✌ honest and charming manπ΄ in the world that still alive after Leonardo DiCaprioπ. Never lies to others, especially for pretty girlsππ. Actually, I always lied, but that is white lies, it as the same as the Simledπ from Leonardo. Now, I would like to share my American dream to you.π

When I saw the Declaration of Independence and Gatsby first time,π© I believe The American dream is bothπ΅π΅ real and illusory, it giving every man who at the bottom a chance to get infinitely close to the goddess without touching. ππππ³πBut that is too general and vagueπ, I realized something that is more important and deeper after I reflect on it for a longer time. π
Only for the people who take advantage of earlier.
π£π£ I don't think the American dream is disappearing. The reason why it failed is because the people were deserted the land when they landing earlier so that the last people will get less chance to achieve their dream.
Actually, the American dream can satisfy everyone’s hope in idealism, but the fact is the land and resources in the real world are limited. π©π©π©ππThe people who land easier on America had already taken advantageπ‘ of the United States and then use up the resourcesπ‘ of it without care about anyone elseπ‘ and let everyone repair their consumption later on. π‘
My opinion can connect to the quote from Declaration of Independence,(and accordingly, all experience has shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.) which is demonstrate the fact that the most of the citizen can be satisfied the desires of their need while willing to suffer, even if they're only a small piece of land, American is willing to try to fight for the land, to achieve their American dream. But the Declaration of Independence was written in the last century, the land was not deserted, it still a lot of unexploited land. Nowadays, the American dream in the view of the present person has changed completely, they just think the American dream is a joke, even a lie to the people who don't have a mind to distinguish which alternative is better.
Ponzi's scheme worked like the American dream. At the height of the economy in that period,π Ponzi created a scheme that created hope which sounds similar to the American dream. πIt was famous among all classes, people were crazy about invested in bad checks, and even though they're only getting a little bit of a profit, but the interest rate is still very attractive.
They want to get ahead of everyone else, believe that they are the last person. Just like the American dream, with a firm belief, but that is a fragile, full of lies and reality. π
The world is always been both fair and unfair, fair to the people who landed in the United States earlier, made them to achieve their dreams, to exhaust all the resources and the land while the later people can only like a Ponzi scheme, for a little bit of profit, give up all their life for more and more wealth of the people who at the top.
Because resources areπ limited, πsuccessful people have luck, courage, and opportunity, it is the most important part. Opportunities will come at the most critical time, for those people who are willing to seize their dream. The more successful people will lead more lower-class to lose the chance to achieve their American dream.
The American dream is realistic since those people who did not believe it will disappear. Because the fact is the Pyramid selling won't work after a few years.
The reason why pyramid selling can be popular in that period, even famous until now is that the dream is like aπballoon, πwas destroyed by the earlier people and the people who were following behind them also want to re-realize these dreams, and try to succeed, Greed, desire, and money are the original SINS.

Ponzi was not a businessman, he was more like an anti-social thinker π and as Ponzi himself said, "I have shown the world a good show, worth at least $15 million." he was rightπ. Sometimes a lier enlightened society more than a bunch of thinkers. πͺπͺ
The people who created the American dream were as same as Ponzi's thoughts.
After 90 days, he was able to get a 50%interests return on his investment, and then he upgraded his promise: 45 days, 50%interests return. Finally, it impossible, just like the American dream created an illusion to the lower class.

I would like to talk more about Myrtle and Daisy. I believe that I found the commonality about them, although they were a huge gap between them apparently. First of all, both of them are women, haha not the normal woman. They were betrayed by their husband and did not act the typical traditional virtue women. In the story, I think people can found they were greed and hypocrisy easier. But I have different views on them, I always believe everything that we can easier get the answer was not usually correct. Just like the Iceberg theory, Hemingway used a kind of replacement and made fun of the reader. He hides most of the ice under the sea. The author of Gatsby may not hide something for Myrtle and Daisy, but he really create enough deeper space for the reader to think about it. I am one of the readers,
I think Myrtle and Daisy were acting like this is because of the sense ofπ§ void. Women were always acting the passive πpart in a relationship, the stereotype wasπ« compulsive being brainwashing everyone's mind at that time. Even in recent years, the passive part mayπ not disappearance although the women's gender is stronger than before and the stereotype was not that solid. I think both Myrtle and Daisy were just acting theπ» hypocrisy of happiness in order to hide their fragile heart. Daisy acting the hypocrisy of what the lifestyle of the upper class and Myrtle acting the hypocrisy of how the lower class was be used by rich man. We can not judge whether they were right or wrong base on their behavior, just like what Daisy said women are supposed to rely on men, they have to act like innocent, no matter what they thought. The biggest commonality is that they do not like their husbands, no matter rich or poor, they use their most hypocritical appearance to live, cheat their husband and themself. To get what they think is better, all of the images were created by themself.
My American Dream was different from others, people may think the American dream is like a hope orπΎ superficiality gap of classes. I just think the American dream is like aπΌ period of history, which is theπ« opposite way of lost generation, the people who live in that time may be lost too, but they still have the opportunity to achieve their expectation, it was much better than a lost generation. But American also had the limitation on the normal person, it demonstrates by the gap between the π¨ old and π¦ new money. The person from the old money has already taken advantage π of America, so that is hard for other people to compete or even close to their dream. The wealth and resources are limited, how could the realistic thing satisfy everyone's dream in the real world. It might just achieve is the Neverland.
American Dream has a limitation, Not everyone would achieve it, just like what Myrtle and Daisy did. They are kind of similar π· people, which be showed in the attitude toward the husband, hate, not satisfied, betrayed. But in another way of saying, The American dream is like a sign of The Times, ☺ metaphor for Daisy and Mrytle's beautyπΈ ππ
π, which will pass with time.π But there is the only thing that can not be changed, the gap of statues will never replace for both of them. Daisy married the higher old money husband, whose name is Tom. Although Tom is not nice to him, but it doesn't prove that she has not been a part of the American dream. A growing number of early old money people like Tom gave Paul more of the desperate reality of the late underclass, which is unable to realize the American dream.
In short, some people may believe Daisy had already achieved her American dream,
married with old money, get higher statues, accepted by the mainstream society. But In another way, both Daisy and myrtle were not achieved their American dream, they are the victim π΅π΅ of the American dream, Daisy is just π goods be bundling for old money to show off. Myrtle was that people like πΉ product who takes advantage of the "successful" people.
she wants to climb the pyramid, trying to realize the American dream because she saw there many people who succeed earlier, Myrtle felt that she was also one of the people that can make profits from the Ponzi scheme. They were just a part of the American dream for the old money, π drifting away from their original dream, how can a product achieve it.
Noone should be changed, everything happened for a reason. We can't blame anyone, if we change the past, it will affect the result of the present appearance. Daisy decided to hide her real thoughts for the American dream in her mind. Myrtle was trying to fit in with a class that she did not belong to. That is stew in her own juice, if they change, the book won't be finished, the story won't be as splendid as now, and the last one was the reader won't reflect on the educational implications of the book.
The only one thing that might have to change is society, but the system of the past is like history and we can only be aware of the damage that the class system of the past did to people. We can only change ourselves, do our best, from now on, to reduce class division and do better to not let history happen for nothing again.
The American dream does not benefit anyone in an objective view. First of all, myrtle was a classic character who wanted to climb to the top of the Pyramid and be successful in an upper class, but he failed. The people who on the Top were already maximum, they can not accept anyone else to take advantage of even entering their family. Everything happened in the world was limited, The American dream tells people a truth that what does not belong to them is hard to obtain through hard work. It also a kind of pessimistic irony, because even if Daisy to the top of the pyramid, owned as much as resources and power that she wants, her life is not good. But the people who already take advantage of the lower class will run away to another place if they did something harm others.

Aurora’s Personal comment for Hansen’s Part 1
ReplyDeleteHi Hansen, (ΰΉ╹◡╹)οΎ
This is Aurora.(≖α΄≖)✧ I must acknowledge the introduction of your blog is very interesting. You catch readers attention in a second and let them want to continue reading by using witty and humorous sentences, which is good in my opinion because it gives me a special reading experience. Moreover, you utilize highlights, emoji and pictures selectively. Those things all made the reading process more joyful!‧★,:*:‧\( ̄▽ ̄)/‧:*‧°★*
Emmm, next is about some advice I want to give you. (might be help)Ω©(ΰΉ❛︶❛ΰΉ)ΫΆ
You may want to prove that American Dream is illusory and cannot be applied to everyone because of the shortage of resources. Your proving process is innovative. HOWEVER, it is scattered sometimes(cannot connect what you expressed in the last paragraph), this issue especially reflected in the fifth paragraph—when you connect your idea with Declaration of Independence. Maybe focus on ONE perspective and go deeper will be better. I like the example you chose about Ponzi scheme, but if you can find a specific case about it instead of explaining this theory academically, that will be better and more sensible to readers. I mean if some people are not interested in Finance, too professional stuff will repel them away(so your connection with readers will be interrupted).
In general, I can see your own thinking about American Dream which is FANTASTIC! KEEP THE HABIT OF THINKING, even it is struggling sometimes. Looking forward to your next blog~γΎ(ΰΉ╹◡╹)οΎ"
Tips: 1. Add a title to your blog
2.Pay attention to the unity of fonts so that it will not be so abrupt to readers. If you want to separate your content, separators or emoji might be help
3.Leave two spaces in the beginning of every paragraph, check for spelling mistakes(it is okay) before publishing

ReplyDeleteHey Hansen! π Here is Dale! π€
Great Blog !!!π
First of all, your blog has impressed me deeply and it is amazing as I expected. πππ I guarantee you; your blog is the most attractive and informative that I’ve ever saw before. π π
AT THE SAME TIME, THANKS for sharing your detailed thoughts on the American Dream. πππ Besides, π€π€π€π€I am interested in the idea of the Ponzi’s scheme and the pyramid selling that you’ve mentioned in your post. πππ I saw you were trying to explain the concept behind the Ponzi’s scheme and the pyramid selling. π₯π₯ As you said, it is very similar to the American. π΅π΅π΅ However unfortunately, I didn’t find a direct connection between the Ponzi’s scheme and the American dream after I read your article. π€π€π€ It would be better if you can clarify these relationships.✨✨✨ MOREOVER, π¨π¨π¨ I agree with your thought that “The American dream can satisfy everyone’s hope in idealism, but the fact is the land and resources in the real world are limited.” ππI got the same opinion as you got, that probably the reason why the American dream would fail sooner or later.
Honestly, π₯π₯ this is my favorite blog, and it looks fantastic π♀️π♀️ with the beautiful pictures. OVERALL, πππ this blog is really helpful for people to get to know about the business theory, such as the Ponzi’s Scheme. ππ
